For more than 1<\/span>6<\/span> years, John <\/span>Beiler<\/span>, owner of Northwoods Construction in upper Maine,<\/span> has had between <\/span>two <\/span>to <\/span>four <\/span>residential or light commercial projects <\/span>going on at<\/span> one time, from renovations to remodeling <\/span>to<\/span> new construction. He also manag<\/span>es <\/span>two or three<\/span> crews on those job<\/span> <\/span>sites. In the summer, <\/span>the company<\/span> focus<\/span>es<\/span> on outdoor work like framing, roofing<\/span>,<\/span> and siding, while winter is focused on as much interior work as possible <\/span>limiting, the<\/span> <\/span>exposure to<\/span> Maine\u2019s harsh winter climate.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Using Technology to Scale the Business<\/h2>\n

John admits he <\/span>hasn\u2019t<\/span> had to market the business because much of his work is repeat business, referrals, and word of mouth. <\/span>With an eye<\/span> to scale <\/span>the<\/span> business<\/span>, however,<\/span> John is looking for systems and processes to teach <\/span>the next generation<\/span> and free him up to move the business forward.<\/span> To help him achieve this goal, John started shopping around for software solutions.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
